Project Overview

The largest redevelopment of an industrial loft in Racine's history is being jointly announced by Gary Becker, Mayor of the City of Racine, and Jim Walter, President of Harvest Development. Riverbend Lofts, a $15 million residential development located in Downtown Racine’s Art District, will be built adjacent to the root River Bike path, just east of the Root River. It will occupy the former Badger Uniform Building and the surrounding block.

The 58 unit development will include a phase two directly south of the current building containing an additional 28 units. The Riverbend Lofts will also be the first project in Racine to create live-work units within the site. A live work unit will allow residents to purchase a ground floor office space and attach it to their second floor condo unit.

Mayor Becker stated, “Jim Walter is a true pioneer. His vision for the site has become a reality.” The first of its kind, these luxury industrial style condo lofts offer quality and style at an affordable price. Riverbend will feature a mix of efficiencies, 1 and 2 bedroom units. The styles are designed to accent the washed brick and heavy wood beams and ceilings. "We went to great lengths to meet the demands of the market when it comes to loft style and design,” said Walter. “There is a lot of history in this building and in the city of Racine we needed to accentuate."
